Dead Poet’s Society - Directed by Peter Weir
I will unfortunately be unable to join you tonight for #FoF. I am currently posting this from the Sears Centre during intermission of the Cirque Du Soleil show Quidam. On a birthday double date with @nicholasscimeca and our better looking counterparts.
That being said, Dead Poet’s Society comes at special request and high praises abound. One of my favorite films of all time and an instant classic.
I’ll hop on the net later on tonight to check out the comments. Much love!

FILMS ON FRIDAY
True Grit - Directed by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen
As someone who traditionally does not enjoy remakes, I must make an exception for True Grit. Originally released in 1969 with legends John Wayne, Glen Campbell, Robert Duvall and Dennis Hopper at the helm, the Coen brothers take an already exciting storyline and turn it every so slightly left of the dial. Studded with belt buckle stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin, the real beacon of light beckons from the amazing performance by Hailee Steinfeld.
If you like Westerns or not, this is a good film. Period. I’m not alone in that opinion, as it was nominated for 10 Oscar nominations in 2010.
Lock yer meat to yer seat and enjoy a lil #FoF treat.
Start Time - 9:45 CT
*True Grit is currently streaming on Netflix.

In The Loop - Directed by Armando Iannucci

Amidst all the puzzling political posturing of the coming presidential election, looming internet censorship laws, and ongoing unrest in the Middle East, I thought tonight called for something on the lighter end of the mood spectrum.
In The Loop is one of funniest political satires I’ve seen, dripping in dark wit that sheds veils and detects bullshit like few before it. Fronted by a great cast including but not limited to James Gandolfini, Peter Capaldi, Tom Hollander, Gina McKee and the girl that played “My Girl” all grown up.
If foul language and Lord of the Rings references don’t offend you, you’re sure to enjoy this half as much as I do.
I have 7 inches of snow to shovel off the old driveway right now, so I’ll be a little late. Start whenever your hearts desire, and welcome back to another Films on Friday!
